The Interagency Coalition on AIDS and Development (ICAD) is a coalition of Canadian international development organizations and AIDS service organizations that aim to reduce the impact of HIV/AIDS on resource poor communities. The authors focus on the relationship between HIV/AIDS, education, and development by highlighting ways that education has been fundamentally changed by HIV/AIDS on the one hand, and how education can work to change the HIV/AIDS crisis on the other. The authors point out problems with past HIV/AIDS education efforts and call for HIV/AIDS to be placed at the centre of the education agenda.
