About the Positive Living Society of British Columbia

The Positive Living Society of British Columbia (Formally BCPWA) exists to enable persons living with AIDS and HIV disease to empower themselves through mutual support and collective action. From our personal struggles and challenges come our courage and strength. Directed by and for people living with HIV, with an HIV-positive membership of over 4,600 individuals, Positive Living BC is Western Canada's largest AIDS organization with a Board of Directors composed entirely of HIV-positive people.

Positive Living BC provides referrals, advocacy, treatment information and support to HIV-positive British Columbians. Services include: advocacy assistance, advocacy outreach, Complementary Health Fund (CHF), living + Magazine, peer counselling and support groups, drop-in centre, health promotion and positive prevention programs, Internet Cafe, income tax preparation, support for newly diagnosed individuals, Prison Outreach Program, member retreats, volunteer opportunities.
