Vancouver Women’s Health Collective

A report to the Vancouver Women's Health Collective Steering Committee, by Brenda Kent for the Community Health Advocate Project. The report describes the community alliances made between the Community Health Advocate Coordinator and organizations that are interested in becoming a part of the project.

A series of questions posed to the electoral candidates of the provincial election in 2005, by the 52% Coalition, a non-partisan coalition of women encouraging women to vote, and calling for women's issues to be included on the electoral agenda. The questions address topics such as the re-establishment of the Ministry of Women's Equality, MSP premiums, legal aid, access to childcare, women and work, and women and social assistance.

This media advisory by the 52% Coalition invites women to attend the Candidates Forum on Women's Issues with candidates Adriane Carr, Jenny Kwan, and Linda Reid confirmed to attend. The media advisory also describes the purpose of the 52% Coalition: seeking to inform women by putting women's issues on the electoral agenda, encouraging women to engage in the political process and getting women out to vote.

This document is a summary of the diversity workshop held by the Vancouver Women's Health Collective (VWHC). It includes a description of the major issues discussed at the workshop, definition of the key terms, steps to alliance-building, and steps towards action.
